OOTD: Sister Of The Groom

I'm sure you're aware of my recent holiday to Crete, the reason behind this trip away was due to my brother and his now wife getting married on the gorgeous Greek island. I thought I'd do an outfit post as they're quite enjoyable to do and my brother will only get married once (touch wood x100) so this isn't an opportunity to miss.

Originally I had the option to be a bridesmaid and considering how difficult it was to choose a dress for the occasion it would of been much easier if I had said yes, but I didn't and ended up spending months searching for the right dress. The dress I chose was from from ASOS and is a strapless bandeau midi dress with a boned bodice and a wired hem to give it a nice shape for the skirt. It's covered in gorgeous flowers in a variety of colours, though the shade of the dress itself threw me completely as it looks a lot more pink on the site where in reality it's more of a nude shade making it difficult to pair with shoes and accessories.

I ended up purchasing nude block heel sandals from River Island very last minute. I was hunting high and low for heeled shoes that didn't have a thin heel but were still pretty enough to match the dress. They're real leather which makes them extra comfy though they're at £42 they're probably the most expensive shoes I own as I'm not much of a shoe person.

The jewellery pieces I wore were a selection of silver gem rings from New Look and a pretty gem necklace from Urban Outfitters which I cannot find on the site damn it! I didn't end up wearing a bag as I couldn't find a clutch in the right shade without it being covered in gems or gold, instead I lumbered my Mum with my make-up and necessities.

I'm also going to a wedding on Saturday 27th and as I've ordered a new dress for the occasion I may treat you to another outfit post so keep your eyes peeled. I also hope you're enjoying this holiday themed posts!

Have you been to any weddings recently? x
