Review: Laura Mercier Foundation Primer

A few months ago I purchased a beauty box that included an amazing range of products (The Glamour Beauty Power List) and one of those products was this, the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer.

It has taken me a long time to first try out this product, but I haven't looked back since. It really lives up to the huge hype and I can even say its replaced Benefit Porefessional in my routine.

It's a liquid primer so you only need a small amount in application, it's quite like applying a moisturiser. Once applied I find it becomes matte on the skin which a lot of people may not enjoy, but I believe helps create an even base that foundation can stick to.  I've noticed a massive difference when applying my foundation, bare in mind I've always used Benefit Porefessional which is already a fantastic primer. It does make a difference to the wear of my make-up too, I've found myself touching up less often which is just what I want!

This primer's main qualities in the moisturising benefits, it claims it can be used by itself as a moisturiser and I have to admit it does live up to it's expectations. I don't use a moisturiser (Naughty I know!) so this was a perfect addiction to my routine to keep my skin hydrated and soft.

The scent however is a different story, I'm not sure how to describe it other than being rather disgusting, if you're very sensitive to smells you may be put off from using this primer. That's if you're not put off the price of £29 for a 50ml tube already! I'm not sure if I'll re-purchase this when I've finished using this 30ml tube but I am currently enjoying the change in my routine.

What are your thoughts on this primer?
