Make Up Look: Back To Basics

Everyone has a look they do on their self that is a minimal, day to day, basic look and I thought I'd share mine with you as it's the first make up look I've done on my blog! First thing's first, here's a look into my make up bag and the products I use:

I use the above products and brushes to create a minimal look, I guess it's a "no make up make up look" in a sense. There's no contouring and little colour, very bland! I would wear this look when I go to work or just to the shops and times when I'm too lazy to make a proper effort.

  1. First thing's first, I use the Maybelline Pore Professional Primer which is a complete staple for me at the moment. I apply the primer all over my face but specifically on my t-zone and areas I have large pores.
  2. After applying primer, it's time for foundation. I currently use Rimmel's Match Perfection in shade 100 Ivory (Review here) and I use my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to blend this in all over my face.
  3. Once I've finished with foundation I use the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer on any blemishes, redness and under my eyes slightly to create a finished look, I love this concealer as it's not cakey and works well over my foundation.
  4. I then move onto my eyes, starting with the Naked 2 palette (Review here) where I blend the shade Tease in with the brush included in the palette, I use this colour with most of my make-up looks as it's such a simple easy to wear matte colour and can be blended with any other colours really well.
  5. After I've blended this shade over my entire lid, I move onto mascara and for this look I'm using Benefit's "They're Real" Mascara on both top and bottom lashes, I use two coats on my top lashes and one light coat on the bottom.
  6. Next I fill in my eyebrows with the HD Brows Foxy Pallete (Review here) using a random brush I got in a gift set years ago. I tend to just fill in my brows natural shape using small brush strokes so they look natural.
  7. The next step is touching up any fall out and smudges, then applying Rimmel's Stay Matte Powder all over my face with a Real Technique Powder Brush. This helps the make up stay in place and prevents shine.
  8. Lastly I use a Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm in either Cherry Me or for this look I've chosen Pink Punch. For this look I've done one coat and used my fingers to rub it in creating a more pale pink  shade.

Here is the finished look. Of course there's lots of ways to add to this look whether it's eyeliner, blusher or just a brighter lip! I hope you've liked this post, let me know what you think!

Should I do another make-up look?

  1. I really need to start using a primer! I want one but I don't know which one to get! Do you recommend this one?
Great post! You should definitely do more of those! :)

    1. I definitely recommend this primer, it's great as it's off the high street and not too pricey compared to others so worth a try. If you try it let me know!
      Thankyou ♥
